We know for fact that Maritime transport and logistics are the main pillars in achieving that and transforming our beloved Kingdom into a global logistics center. At Bahri, we are focusing our attention in the beginning of the new year to the future of our company with an ambitious strategy, matching our vision 2030 requirements and orientation towards development and build up throughout the cultivated efforts of everybody in all sectors. The launch of the annual Bahri Cooperative Training Program in Dubai represents an important milestone in The company’s vision to foster future leadership for the maritime sector in the Kingdom and the wider region, help expose the participating students to the corporate work environment and to a variety of employment opportunities. Bahri has been spearheading efforts aimed at future-proofing the logistics and transportation business in the region and driving localization through the empowerment of the local youth with the right skills and knowledge. As part of the internship program, the trainees were assigned a number of tasks and responsibilities and given the opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding of the various aspects of Bahri’s operations and the maritime industry in general. Bahri also hosted ‘Meet The Expert’ sessions to help the trainees gain specialist insights into a range of functions in the company, including the sectors of ship management, oil, chemicals, human resources, information technology, management and finance. International Exhibitions Bahri has been keen to foster its international presence and participation in global events. This included its participation in 2019 Breakbulk Europe and Breakbulk America. During the exhibition, the company showcased its extensive range of logistics services and solutions, with their added value. Bahri’s participation had a special importance; with over 11,000 industry professionals and key decision-makers in attendance, Breakbulk Europe is the continent’s largest exhibition designed for the breakbulk and project cargo industry, making it a an unparalleled platform to introduce Bahri’s capabilities to a global audience, to acquire a deep vision on customers’ needs and expectations. سخر ُ “لكي تنجح في مهمتك، يجب عليك أن ت كامل تفكيرك المتفاني باتجاه هدفك”. مقولة تتحقق في شخصية من الشخصيات البارزة في قطاع المال والأعمال، الأستاذ محمد بن عبدالعزيز السرحان رئيس مجلس إدارة “البحري”، والذي تولى م، 2019 دفة الإبحار بسفينة “البحري” خلال عام يسير بها بكفاءة ونجاح، وتأكيد ريادتها في قطاع النقل البحري، وتقديم الخدمات اللوجستية. في هذا الحوار يوضح رئيس مجلس إدارة “البحري”، ملامح الاستراتيجية المقبلة ونستطلع معه المؤشرات والمعطيات. مع انتهاء الربع الثالث من العام، كيف تقرؤون مؤشرات البحري؟ وما هي أهم ملامح المرحلة الحالية؟ بالتحديات الاقتصادية على ً مليئا 2019 كان عام المستوى الإقليمي والدولي، فقد أثرت الحرب التجارية بين الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية والصين بشكل سلبي على مستوى الطلب لخدمات النقل البحري. كما أن انخفاض مستوى النمو الاقتصادي في مراكز النمو القوية سابقا مثل الصين والهند وبعض دول أمريكا الجنوبية ساهم كذلك في تدني الطلب على خدمات النقل إلى تلك المراكز. أما على المستوى المحلي فقد كان لجهود المملكة العربية السعودية في الحفاظ على أسعار النفط من خلال في زيادة المعروضمن طاقات ً مباشرا ً تقنين الإنتاج أثرا الشحن وبالتالي تدني أسعار النقل في قطاع النفط. وبالرغم من تلك التحديات فقد حققت شركة البحري م 2019 سبتمبر 30 خلال الربع الثالث المنتهي في لتصل إلى 6.28% في الإيرادات بلغت نسبته ً نموا مليار ريال 1,39 مع ً مليار ريال سعودي، مقارنة 1,48 سعودي في نفس الفترة من العام الماضي. أما لتبلغ 85.51% الأرباح التشغيلية فقد ارتفعت بنسبة مليون 139.61 مع ً مليون ريال سعودي مقارنة 259 ريال سعودي في الفترة ذاتها من العام المنصرم. بنسبة ً وكان صافي أرباح الشركة قد سجل نموا مليون ريال سعودي، 146,73 لتصل إلى 80.52% 81,28 وذلك بالمقارنة مع صافي أرباحها البالغ مليون ريـال سعودي عن الفترة ذاتها من العام الماضي، ويعزى ذلك في المقام الأول إلى ارتفاع العوائد في العديد من القطاعات التشغيلية. وتسعى شركة البحري بشكل مستمر إلى تحسين عملياتها والتكيف مع جميع التغيرات والتطورات التي يشهدها عن الحفاظ على حقوق المساهمين من ً القطاع، فضلا خلال تقننين المصروفات والمحافظة على مستوى الربحية في كافة القطاعات. كما تبقى البحري ملتزمة بتبني نهج الابتكار والمبادرات التي تضمن المحافظة على مستوى الريادة في الأداء وذلك بهدف الحد من التأثيرات السلبية على النتائج المالية للفترة الحالية. ما استراتيجيتكم المعلنة للمستقبل القريب؟ وما هي تطلعاتكم؟ باختصار استراتيجيتنا تعتمد على ثلاثة محاور رئيسية، أولها هو السعي المستمر إلى تنمية أعمالنا وتطويرها في القطاعات الرئيسية الحالية في

Further growth in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) market is a milestone in the company’s journey to help us reach out to more customers in APAC in order to serve them better and to give us a competitive edge. To this end, we opened an office in India and will open another one in Singapore this year. We also provide other shipping and logistics service for Aramco through our Cargo and Chemical divisions. Additionally, we benefit from the experience and knowledge of Aramco representatives on the board to bring some of Aramco’s best practices in management and other areas of interest. As for the PIF, we consider them to be our main channel into all government sectors as they support us in our dealing with all government bodies. Additionally, PIF representatives in our board of directors contribute in bringing the best practices in governance and other investment parameters. PIF also continuously provide us with their International market intelligence and insights. What about future memorandum of understanding (MoU) and cooperation prospects? We are continuously seeking all kinds of opportunities to grow our business through partnerships partnerships to develop the company’s business in several areas over the past five years setting up joint ventures (JV) with Bolloré Logistics and with the American company Bunge in the field of transport, storage and handling of grains. We have recently initiated part of our expansion policy in shipbuilding, by signing an MoU with the International Maritime Industries (IMI) and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) to build new giant crude oil tankers. This move will contribute to the advancement of the supply chain infrastructure in the field of shipbuilding and further contribute to its localization in the Kingdom. This will also enable IMI to build giant crude oil tankers independently within the Kingdom. Needless to say, this will be done in accordance with the latest international shipbuilding standards, which goes along with the Saudi Vision in maritime transport. Despite all the above challenges, Bahri’s revenues during the three-month period between July and September 2019 jumped 6.28 percent to SAR 1.48 billion, from SAR 1.39 billion reported in the same period last year, and operational profits rallied 85.51 percent to SAR 259 million from SAR 139.61 million in the year-ago quarter.

طريق الحرير الجديد مـن الاز دهــــــار ٌ حــــزام منــــارة العالـم بأسـره ّ يلف

‘’ليس هناك نهر عظيم يمكن مقارنته بهذا النهر ل من القوافل، هذا الطريق الذي حمل ّ المتص إلى أخرى، ومن إقليم ٍ نصف تاريخ العالم من حقبة إلى إقليم بقوة البشر الضئيلة والمحدودة’’، هكذا وصفت الرحالة والمؤرخة البريطانية “فريا ستارك” ر ّ طريق الحرير، مبهورة بعظمة هذا الدرب الذي غي العالم وكان أول اتصال عميق وتراكمي يتم فيه . ً تبادل التجارة والثقافات معا واليوم، يعود هذا الطريق الأسطوري إلى الحياة على يد الرئيس الصيني “شي جين بينغ”. ً مجددا الذي أطلق مبادرة “الحزام والطريق”، لإعادة العالم إلى نوع مؤثر من التواصل البشري وشكل عريق من الانفتاح بين الشعوب، الأمر الذي سينعكس على ازدهار وتطور الدول التي يمر منها الطريق، إلى جانب تعزيز مفهوم السلام والاستقرار في يمر بها ً دولة 60 كل العالم. إذ أن هذا الأمر يعني في المشروع في قارات ً الطريق، ستكون شريكة آسيا وأوروبا وأفريقيا. الطريق والتاريخ منذ مطلع التاريخ، تبادلت الشعوب صناعاتها وشقوا الطرق التجارية فيما بينهم، وسمي الطريق القادم من الصين “طريق الحرير” لإنه بالضرورة يحمل الحرير الصيني الذي كان أهم اختراعاتهم حالة، َّ في العالم القديم، فسافر التجار مع الر مع المغامرين، وعبرت جيوش ُ اك َّ وانتقل النس الغزاة وفلول المهاجرين، فبنيت مدن من العدم، وازدهرت مدن على حساب أخرى بحسب مرور هذا الطريق منها. فمن الصين جاء الحرير والمخترعات الأربعة (البوصلة والبارود والورق والطباعة)، لتصل عبر طريق الحرير إلى العالم كله، وهو طريق قد ا بين الجبال، أو ًّ ا فوق الرمال، أو ممر ً يكون مسلك ا يعبر الأنهار، أو حياة ً دربا يقطع الفيافي، أو جسر ا من مكان إلى آخر، ً كاملة فوق قافلة تمضي شهور لكنه قبل ذلك كله صنيعة الإنسان، ومع التجارة جاءت ثقافات، وألسنة ولهجات، وفنون وآداب، وهاجر أعلام، وتنقل رحالة، وظهرت أهمية طريق ه عن حياة العالم. ُ ر نبض َّ الحرير كشريان عب م، 1877 شهدت الصين نهضة تجارية كبيرة عام وذلك بعد أن قامت الصين بزراعة شجرة التوت وتربية “دودة القز” المنتجة للحرير على أوراقها بشكل كبير وغير مسبوق، وسرعان ما ازدهرت تجارة المنسوجات الحريرية في بلادهم، وتم تصديره ، الذي كان يربط بين ً للعالم عبر طريق الحرير مجددا
ق.م، لاحظ الإمبراطور الصيني “هوان جدي” 2700 في عصر أحد الأيام، عام تلف أشجار التوت في حديقته، واكتشفت زوجته، الإمبراطورة “زيلتسن” وجود ديدان بيضاء تقوم بأكل أوراق التوت وتغزل شرانق لامعة. فقامت بإسقاط عد للشاي، وصارت تحركها بيدها وهي في ُ الشرنقة في الماء الساخن الم إثر خيط ً تتشابك وتتفكك من الشرنقة، سحبتها خيطا ً رفيعة ً الماء، ورأت خيوطا هائلة النعومة والجمال، وطلبت من زوجها أن َ دقيقة ً فتشكل لديها خيوطا يمنحها مجموعة من أشجار التوت حيث يمكنها تربية الآلاف من ديدان الحرير التي تنتج تلك الشرانق الجميلة. سحرت الإمبراطورة بهذا المنتج وابتكرت بكرات سميكة يمكن نسجها. لتكون الصين عام ٍ الحرير لتجميع تلك الخيوط وإنتاج خيوط قبل الميلاد مخترعة ورائدة تلك التجارة التي أبهرت العالم، ويصبح البطل 1000 في رحلات طريق الحرير الذي بات يشبه الأسطورة.
